February 4th 2008 News and updates Welcome to 2008, already February is here and the makers are getting ready for a big year...can only be a good thing. Anyway onto the news! Tamiya are working on a Land Cruiser 40 CR-01 Chassis. Looks like they are setting this up to be an "out of the box" crawler with a suspension set up that looks very interesting. Continuing on the Tamiya theme, they are also releasing a TT01 Type E, this model has a few minor changes and looks to include a new Nissan Fairlady Z Nismo body which looks very smooth. Yokomo are also making a move into crawling. The Rockcrawler is 4WS and twin motor, very similiar to the classis Clod crawlers! Also on the rumour mill...are recent photos of Orito doing promo work with Yokomo a sign of things to come. Holding what appears to be a "Supra mock up"...;) HPI appear to be working on a new drift chassis. Shaft driven, centre motor and rear mounted battery this looks to be sold as a "high end" drift machine. More to come on this one thought. February 26th News Update ABC Hobby are again releasing another body, a Toyota MR2. It is a 190mm and if it is anything like the recent shells from ABC it will be awesome Toyota MR2. February 7th News Update Well February starts to see new products starting to roll out including items from Yokomo, Tamiya and HPI to mention a few. Yokomo - As well as the Soarer and Trust S15 it seems a Welc Mark II is lurking in the wings, comes complete with the Welc decals however it is once again looking like a limited edition, damn nice looking decals. Speedway Pal have been busy and have a new twin muffler out as well as more on the way..stay tuned!! Kyosho have a few new Mini Z Nascar Bodies out as well..the Team Caliber Cart Edwards '05 Ford Taurus and the Kevin Harvick '06 Chevrolet Monte-Carlo SS. HPI/ Hot Bodies Japan have a few new chassis on the way. The E10 Drift/Touring Chassis looks to take on the Tamiya TT01 in the entry chassis stakes. Options parts so far include Aluminium Towerbars and Aluminium Threaded Dampers. From Hot Bodies comes the Cyclone D4 Competition Buggy, 4WD and with a full carbon chassis. Also Chevron Models reluctantly announce that the licence for the Skyline Turbo Gr5 expires at the end of March therefore production will stop.............so get in quick! February 1st News Update Tamiya has again been busy with two revised chassis on the way. The TA-05R Chassis Kit and the M-03R Chassis Kit. Both look like they will be limited edition chassis with extra bling for your buck. The TA05R looks to include aluminium centre plate (blue), spur gear holder (blue) and carbon damper stays. The M-03R also looks to include some aluminium extras, both will be available late March at this stage. January 25th News Update Not a great deal on the news front......just an update on the RX-7 due out from Tamiya, it looks like the TT01 kit/body will go on sale 24th February so keep you eyes peeled as it looks like a great body. It also looks like the 5 Spoke and 10 Mesh Tamiya rims maybe available in chrome early March...good news also!! January 15th Rumours no more...!! It comes in the shape of a JZX90 MkII Street version, no pics as yet but I like the recent Toyota "boom" and am hoping for a Soarer body to match the GT-V rims recently released. November 28th New Releases Yokomo have released their RS Watanabe and Volk GT-V this week and will be instore real soon! Out next month from HPI Japan is the Cyclone S Drift package available with an AE86 or FD3S body and Stage D Tyres. November 22nd Whats new!! Speedway Pal have some new colours out in the 37R range....Black Titanium and Matte Bronze. They are only available through the Speedway Pal shop and are currently not being sold in shops (except Genkidoridori of course). So expect a few sets in store this weekend! November 14th News and more Well the Tamiya Fair is this weekend and we should see a preview of their new Mazda RX-7 TT01 Kit real soon...fingers crossed. November 6th News- Tamiya and more Tamiya have a new body in the works and it is rumoured for a February release (here in Japan). The body is a FD3S and comes with the TT01 chassis, LED light unit and lightbuckets. Unfortunately no pics as yet but stay tuned!! Also Active have a new rims out- a 7 Spoke Chrome rims that is available with the regular tyre or the Spark 4 tyres. Also this month sees not just 1 RC Drift Bible but 2 out on the market..both contain DVD's. Both from large magazine houses so it should be interesting to see how different they are.
